Frequently Asked Questions
So it's time to make a move and sell your house!  This is a crucial
step for sellers and the entire process should be carefully
planned.  As real estate values begin to level off, interest rates,
though still historically low, are moving upward.  Today, the
average interval is 90 days to list and sell your home.
Professional home staging will truly assist you in getting the most
for your money.

Q:  What is staging and why do it?
A:  The enhancement of a home by employing elements of interior redesign, including, but not limited to, scale
and placement of fine furnishings, artwork, rugs, lighting, accessories, paying attention also to curb appeal and
outdoor spaces.  The benefits of staging accentuates the home's appeal and perceived value, and therefore
helps reinforce the asking price of the home, while reducing the time the home is on the market.

Q:  What does staging do for prospective buyers?
A:  Every home has something unique or special about it.  Show off its best features that create desire in the buyer's mind.
Staging creates the perception of a luxurious and successful lifestyle, with a focus on appealing to the widest possible pool of
home buyers.  In any number of homes, staging eliminates as many possible negatives, such as out-of-date fixtures; pet smells,
cluttered areas; and resolves awkward or ignored spaces.  Home shoppers must be able to imagine living in "your" space in
order to form an impression and make an emotional connection.  This process is vital and proper showcasing of  those positive
features may spark just that connection that leads to offers.

Q:  Is staging cost-prohibitive?
A:  Staging fees naturally vary from home to home; however we pride ourselves on the most competitive pricing
in the luxury market.  One home may require a full staging "makeover" while another home may only need
highlighting a spacious living area or a luxurious master bedroom as a feature.  From our perspective, it is the
wisest money spent, often which the seller easily regains upon sale!  And perhaps best of all, any dollars
invested in preparing a home for sale is also tax-deductible.

Q:  Where do the furnishings come from?
A:  A number of sources.  Dressed to Close has two local warehouses which contain the majority of our pieces.
In addition, where necessary, custom pieces will be created for your home and we will be happy to later add it to
our inventory of fine furnishings.  Designed For Sale has aligned with vendors, manufacturing partners and
resources in the design trade -- we can enhance a home for a fraction of the cost of an interior design project.
Since many of the fabulous furnishings are being implemented in the home, Dressed to Close staging provides
true value to the homeowner.

Q:  What is not included in staging?
A:  Each interior is unique and has its own needs.  We have no limits of what we can supply.  In fact, we are
happy to locate and implement special objects upon request.

Q:  How long does it take?
A:  An initial complimentary meeting is necessary to provide an accurate fee quote and takes less than one-half
hour.  Once the terms are agreed upon by Designed For Sale and the homeowner, approximately five days are
needed to complete the enhancement.

Q:  Do I have to be present?
A:  No.  Your needs will be addressed during the initial meeting or through your real estate agent.  Your home
will receive the utmost personal attention and is guaranteed five-star service, whether you are present or not.
We often recommend homeowners reserve judgment until the design is complete.

Q:  Why?
A:   Design is an evolution.  The first few hours of installation may only yield furnishings in random areas of the
home and is not representative of the polished product.  We want you to be as impressed as prospective
buyers, so recommend waiting until the enhancement is complete.
